Why We Don’t Take Insurance
This is a transparency choice. Insurance requirements can shape how care is delivered. We choose a direct-pay model so sessions can remain client-led, education-forward, and paced by your nervous system—not by billing rules.
What insurance typically requires
- A diagnosis shared with third parties—even when care is preventive or educational.
- Medical-necessity language that can narrow how experiences are described.
- Standardized session limits that don’t always support somatic pacing.
- Audits and coverage decisions that can influence clinical focus.
What direct-pay protects
- Privacy: no diagnosis required for payment.
- Transparency: clear fees with no surprise bills or denials.
- Pacing: time and rhythm guided by your system, not a clock.
- Whole-person education: MindBody and somatic skill-building stay central.
Clinical clarity: Our care is led by DD Travers, Nurse Practitioner. Sessions may include education, counseling, and somatic skill-building within scope. We do not bill insurance so care can remain relational, transparent, and client-directed.
Payment options: We accept credit cards, checks, Venmo, and cash.
Can I seek out-of-network reimbursement?
Some clients choose to submit visits for out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan and is not guaranteed. A receipt can be provided upon request.
